EmpowerED Futures Foundation (EFFO) is a Somali, community-rooted organisation working to expand opportunities for people affected by displacement, with a particular focus on children and young people.
Displacement should not determine a person's future.
Displacement can interrupt education, restrict access to livelihoods and reduce the opportunities available to children and young people as they grow.
EFFO works with communities, government institutions and other local actors to create pathways through which displaced children and young people can learn, develop relevant skills, participate economically and build more self-reliant futures.

A Somalia where displacement does not determine a person’s future. We envision displaced children and young people having the opportunities, skills and resources to pursue their aspirations, strengthen their families and participate fully in their communities and the economy.

To expand access to education, skills, livelihoods and economic opportunities for displaced children and young people through inclusive, community-rooted and locally connected solutions. We work alongside communities, government institutions and other local actors to strengthen pathways towards greater self-reliance, resilience and durable solutions.
